About William D. Silverson, III
William D. Silverson, III, is a Cedar Falls, Iowa native and has spent nearly a half century in the area. After High school and college at the University of Northern Iowa, he married and he and his wife raised two children.
He has been involved in numerous business and real estate ventures, including Midwest Outdoor Advertising, Inc. which he founded and owned until it was sold in 1979. He also founded and owned of a second outdoor advertising company which he sold in the early 1990's.
With the profits from these businesses, he founded a regional Wireless Cable Television Co. which served a 10,500 square mile area. He started with one limited partner and created a conglomerate of publicly held companies with offices in Iowa, California and Florida.
By the time he reached the age of 42 he was a multi-millionaire.
He brought the concept of bus bench advertising to the Midwest. He also had the honor of winning a national award from the Eight Sheet Outdoor Advertising Association for best billboard poster design.
Mr. Silverson was also a guest panelist and a past nominee for the National MDS Broadcasters Association Board of Directors.
To balance out his busy schedule, he likes to spend his free time in Amateur Radio (WAĜATR), and helping his wife raise their 6 year old grandson.
A tireless producer, William's keen business acumen and leadership qualities have enabled him to be self employed and highly successful throughout his entire career.
